Change one current plan first
When a trip moves, old dates can remain in messages, notes and saved searches. Start by updating one current version of the plan, then use it to check what else needs attention.
BerthScout, our berth-request workspace, lets you edit and pause requests. That gives you a clear place to record the intended boat, destination and dates while the itinerary develops.
Separate a change from an uncertainty
A confirmed new departure date and a possible change are different situations. Record what is settled and what you still need to decide. That distinction makes the next conversation more precise.
For example, you might know the trip is moving by a week but not yet know the final destination. Update the date you have confirmed, then keep the destination question visible rather than letting an old choice look final.
Check every active conversation
Review which marinas have received the previous details and which have already replied. Tell the relevant contacts what changed and ask whether their earlier response still applies. Use the latest written information when deciding what comes next.
Keep any confirmed reservation separate from a planning request. If you have booked something, handle the change directly through the marina or booking channel and its stated conditions. Updating a planning note does not update an external booking.
Pause plans you are no longer pursuing
If a destination is temporarily off the list, pause the corresponding request so it does not look like an active intention. That makes it easier to return later without confusing it with the plan you are currently working on.
A short note about why you paused it can help: changed dates, different route or waiting for another decision. Keep the note factual and brief.
Make a final check before the next enquiry
Read the boat measurements, stay type, dates and destination together. Then compare them with the message you are about to send. This small check is most useful after several rounds of changes.
Use BerthScout to keep that current brief in one place. Start with a real trip, save the request and update it as the next adventure becomes more concrete.
